What Your Employees Learn

Each topic pairs technical concepts with hands-on practice on a working WordPress website. Participants learn to:

  • WordPress CMS: configure and extend core settings, themes, and plugins
  • Web architecture: build content hierarchy, navigation, and URL structure
  • Website infrastructure: configure and operate hosting, SSL certificates, and the WordPress database
  • Secure data management: schedule backups, test restoration, and protect form and user data
  • WordPress-specific cybersecurity: apply role-based access control, two-factor authentication, and patch and vulnerability management

Participants who complete the course receive a certificate of completion titled “WordPress Web Administrator Certificate.”

About Ohio TechCred

TechCred is an Ohio Department of Development program that reimburses employers when their employees earn short-term, technology-focused credentials. Approved employers can receive up to $1,000 per person, per credential, and up to $30,000 per application.

To apply, employers must be registered with the Ohio Secretary of State, have a physical, non-residential business location in Ohio, and employ Ohio-resident W-2 employees. Current application dates and full eligibility rules are on the Ohio TechCred website.

Requesting This Credential Through TechCred

TechCred reimburses training only for credentials on its eligible list. If the WordPress Web Administrator Certificate isn’t listed when you apply, you can request it in your application through the Credential Not Listed option. TechCred reviews each request against its three eligibility criteria described at the Ohio TechCred website:

  • the credential must be industry-recognized,
  • technology-focused, and
  • short-term.

We help you prepare the documentation that shows how this course meets each of the criterion and walk you through the request:

  1. Contact Erin Brooks before the application period opens. TechCred won’t review a request with incomplete information, so Erin will send you our syllabus and a course description ready to paste into your application.
  2. In your TechCred application, select Credential Not Listed.
  3. Enter the credential name exactly as WordPress Web Administrator Certificate and name Emily Journey & Associates as the training provider.
  4. Paste in the course description and list https://emilyjourney.com/ohio-techcred/ as the credential webpage. Upload the syllabus if the application allows it.

Training can begin on or after the first day of the application period.
